“I had my 8th coaching session this morning with Brad Herda.

Over the past 16 weeks of coaching I have had to face some harsh realities and have had to make some hard decisions. The last 4 days however, I have accomplished more in terms of "operating and owning" the firm, than I have in the 4 years since Michael Torphy merged our firms (IYKYK). At the end of this morning's coaching session, I shared with Brad Herda that our firm was sponsoring a networking event with 6 other professional business owners and outlined the event. I mentioned some of the guests I had invited and told him he was welcome to come by, since he said he knew all of the guests I had invited. As I was talking with several of the guests this evening, Brad Herda walked up to me and handed me a box of Junior Mints.........THIS IS A BUSINESS COACH.

The last 12 days have been extremely difficult from a business owners perspective for me, but I kicked it the last 4 days and finally made the tough decisions on how to move our firm forward and upwards ............and my coach recognized this. He took time out of his evening to stop at a store, buy a box of Junior Mints, and deliver them to me.

In case you are wondering, I am not the easiest person to coach ....yes, I know, surprising right? The thing with Brad Herda is if you don't take action on something and it goes more than two sessions, he simply says "this item isn't that important to you at this time"................ and that has allowed me to rethink what is important. End of day, I can finally breathe after 4 years ...........in 16 weeks he is responsible for helping me move the firm forward and upwards...........I cannot begin to imagine where I will be in the next 16 weeks.

I do know one thing.......I am never eating this box of Junior Mints - I am keeping them as a trophy.
